Why can't Loveless Cafe ship meat products to California or Massachusetts?
Our manufacturers work with small, regional farmers that currently do not meet the guidelines outlined in California’s Proposition 12 or Massachusetts 940CMR36:00 Regulation, which went into effect on January 1, 2024. We are hopeful that progress will be made so that we can sell and ship our meat products to California and Massachusetts again in the future.
Does Loveless Cafe serve breakfast all day?

My whole country ham has mold on it. Why?
Our Whole Country Hams are cured the old fashioned way and will need to be fully cleaned, soaked, skinned, and trimmed prior to cooking. If you prefer less salt content, soak in water for approximately 24-48 hours, changing the water at 12 hours. Our ham is aged 6-9 months, which creates a robust flavor sought by country ham connoisseurs. These hams are not tenderized or pre-cooked – just country cured, smoked, and aged. Due to aging, your ham will have some mold on it; you may also notice white specks throughout the meat. This, in no way, affects the quality of the meat, but rather indicates proper aging and is often preferred by many connoisseurs.
Why was my order to multiple addresses cancelled?
Good news! It wasn't cancelled in the way you think. Our system takes the main order with all those addresses and splits it into separate orders so we can ship them properly. If you have any concerns about your order though then give us a call at 1-800-889-2432 and we can help you further!
My bacon/ham arrived warm. Is it still good?
Our meat is USDA approved good out of refrigeration for up to 7 days and we don't use coolant for this reason so we strive to make sure that your order arrives within that time frame. Always inspect the packaging when you receive it for any loose seals or damage.
There's no expiration date on the jar! When does it expire?
Our preserves and pantry items are jarred the old fashion way. Our pantry items are jarred for us by local Amish! They can last for very long time unopened just like the jars grandma used to make. So even if you forget a jar of Blackberry Preserves in the back of the pantry for a while, as long as it's unopened then it'll still be good. Just be sure that when you open the jar, it has that distinct pop and always inspect the surface of the product for mold like you'd do for any jarred item. Give it a good stir and then enjoy! After you've opened your product, you can store it in the back of the fridge (It's coldest there!) for up to a year. If you keep it in the door of the fridge (It's warmer there), it'll last for 6 months instead.
